Technique: Hand-knotted at Circa 266kpsi. Material: Wool & Silk pile, with silk warps and wool wefts. Colours and Design: This Afghan monument rug has a range of colours. The main theme is blue with brown. Pictorial: compartmentalised monument design. Condition/Age: New. Additional Information: Afghan Silk & Wool Carpets are probably the finest type of Afghan Rug made these days. The production is small and from Kabul. Classic Afghan patterns are produced as well as Caucasian designs and occasionally maps and pictorials. The warp threads of these Afghan Rugs are typically made of silk – this silk is raw silk and is rather wiry to the touch. The weft threads are of wool.
