The Hario V60 Ceramic Coffee Dripper (Size 01) is a world-standard manual pour-over brewer, recognized for its conical shape and heat-retention properties. The 01 size is specifically designed for brewing 1 to 2 cups (approximately 120ml to 300ml) of coffee, making it ideal for single-serving home use. Design & Engineering Conical Geometry Unlike flat-bottom drippers, the V60 features a 60-degree conical angle. This shape allows water to flow through the center of the coffee grounds, extending the contact time and ensuring a concentrated extraction even with smaller brew volumes. Internal Spiral Ribbing The interior of the dripper is engineered with curved spiral ribs. These ribs serve a functional purpose: they prevent the wet paper filter from adhering to the walls of the ceramic. This creates an air gap that allows the coffee to “breathe” and degas properly during the extraction process, ensuring consistent water flow. Single Large Exit Hole The base of the V60 features a single large opening. This design gives the user total control over the flow rate; the speed of the pour directly dictates the brew time and extraction strength, rather than the hole size restricting the flow. Material Benefits Constructed from traditional Arita-yaki porcelain, a Japanese ceramic with over 400 years of history, this dripper offers significant thermal advantages: Thermal Mass: Once pre-heated, the ceramic maintains a stable temperature throughout the brewing cycle. Durability: The high-fired porcelain is resistant to staining and odors. Manufacturing: Each unit is manufactured in Japan to ensure precise rib depth and structural integrity. Technical Specifications Model VDC-01-W / VDC-01-B Brew Capacity 1–2 Cups (300ml max) Material Arita-yaki Porcelain (Ceramic) Dishwasher Safe Yes Origin Made in Japan Usage Notes To achieve the best results, it is recommended to use Hario V60 Size 01 Paper Filters. The ceramic body should be thoroughly rinsed with hot water prior to adding coffee grounds to ensure the material is thermally primed.
