Unlike paper filters which absorb coffee oils and produce a tea-like clarity, this chemically etched stainless steel mesh allows those aromatic oils to pass into the cup. The result is a brew with significantly higher body, a richer texture, and a “French Press” style mouthfeel, but with the clean finish typical of the BIRD’s no-bypass vacuum process.
